WHAT HAPPENED TO CHINA'S PLANS TO CURB INDUSTRIAL POWER USE? 11/3/2023 0 Comments Korotkoff 1 5See Film Clip 5.3 which focuses on the speed of the needle when deflating the blood pressure cuff. Deflate the cuff slowly and evenly (OER #1) at about 2 mm Hg per second. Inflate the cuff to the maximum pressure inflation number (OER #1). Place the bell of the cleansed stethoscope over the brachial artery (OER #1) using a light touch and complete seal. Now, you can start to measure blood pressure. Report the presence of an auscultatory gap in narrative notes. When taking blood pressure, if an auscultatory gap is observed, document the first systolic sound and diastolic sound only. If you still cannot feel the pulse, use that value to start auscultating – that value is the maximum inflation pressure number. Inflate the cuff 30 mm Hg quickly past the point when you obliterate the pulse (ie., you no longer feel the pulse). To determine the maximum inflation pressure, start by palpating the brachial or radial pulse while inflating the cuff. It is typically observed in people with a history of hypertension who have been treated with prolonged antihypertensive medication. This gap is an abnormal finding and can occur due to arterial stiffness and arteriosclerotic disease. If you do not determine the maximum pressure inflation, an auscultatory gap could go unrecognized, and as a result the blood pressure could be underestimated (lower than the actual value).Īn auscultatory gap is a silent interval when the Korotkoff sounds go absent and then reappear while you are deflating the cuff during blood pressure measurement. The maximum inflation pressure is the number on the sphygmomanometer that the cuff is inflated to when measuring blood pressure. Healthcare providers determine the maximum inflation pressure before they take blood pressure. Use a stethoscope that has both bell and diaphragm capacity.Make sure that the slope of the stethoscope earpieces point forward or toward your nose.Ensure quiet surroundings so that you can better hear the Korotkoff sounds.Avoid stethoscopes with long tubing because this can distort sounds. Use a high quality stethoscope with durable, thick tubing. The Korotkoff sounds are the result of the turbulent blood caused by the inflated cuff compressing the artery and oscillations of the arterial wall when the heart beats during cuff deflation. The Korotkoff sounds appear after you inflate the cuff (which compresses the artery/blood flow) and then begin to deflate the cuff. You will not hear anything when you first place the stethoscope over the brachial artery, because unobstructed blood flow is silent. These sounds are heard through a stethoscope applied over the brachial artery when the blood pressure cuff is deflating. The stethoscope does not make sounds louder it simply blocks out extraneous noises so you can better hear the Korotkoff sounds. The stethoscope is used on bare skin so that a client’s clothing does not affect the sounds. 11/3/2023 0 Comments Hodden gems nycHidden down a hallway between apartment buildings is the landmarked Amster Yard in Turtle Bay, a hidden gem only for people who know it exists. If you want the ultimate protection, you can replace all 5 of your lug nuts on each wheel with locking lug nuts. This will prevent your car being jacked up and dropped to snap off the lug that has the lock on it. If you are feeling overly protective of your new wheels, you should install 2 locking lug nuts on each wheel directly across from each other. Although thieves will be able to remove 4 of your 5 total lug nuts, they will not be able to take your wheel and tire without removing the last nut. Keep your spare lug nuts in a safe place in case you purchase new wheels later down the road. You will replace one lug nut on each wheel with the new locking nut. Instead you need to use the special key to remove the nuts from your wheels. They are a special shape, usually larger than normal wheel nuts, to prevent a standard socket from fitting on the nut. These nuts will look different than your original lug nuts. The National Crime Bureau recommends protecting your tires and wheels with:Ī standard set of wheel locks come with 4 or 5 lug nuts and a special removal tool. Without wheel locks, you may find your tires for sale online too. The reason these crimes are on the rise again is because it’s easier than ever to make a profit by selling aftermarket parts online. Most are left scratching their heads as to how they became a victim. In fact, in many cases these crimes don’t even get reported to the police or insurance companies. Once they hit the black market they can be sold online in minutes for a premium. If your tires are stolen there’s very little chance that you’ll get them back. If you own run-flat, SUV or off road truck tires, you may be a target as well. It’s not just low profile tires that are fetching a premium on the black market. Thieves are not only after your rims but also after your tires. Without a unique key, most thieves will be stopped in their tracks if they attempt to steal your rims and may move on to easier scores. You’ll sleep better at night knowing that they will still be on your car when you wake up in the morning. These special wheel locks will help keep your wheels and tires safe even in dangerous neighborhoods or unlit parking lots. Do you want to protect your wheels and tires from being stolen? Together with Lovelace and the Amigos, Mumble sets out across vast landscapes and, after some epic encounters, proves that by being true to yourself, you can make all the difference in the world. 'Bridge of Light' is a song from Happy Feet Two and only starring Alecia Moore (Pink). In Adelie Land, Mumble seeks the counsel of Lovelace the Guru, a crazy-feathered Rockhopper penguin who will answer any of life's questions for the price of a pebble. Led by Ramon, the Adelies instantly embrace Mumble's cool dance moves and invite him to party with them.
